SAFE Club cleans up Chiba coast

IMG_7035On December 1, high school club SAFE (Students in Action for the Environment) journeyed to Asahi, Chiba to cut dead and rotting pines from along the sea wall of the tsunami-battered coast line as a first step in preparing the coast for re-planting. Outfitted with hard hats and saws students first cut the 60-year old pines, then piled them along the sea wall where they will be processed into bio fuel. (Randy Wanless, SAFE Advisor)IMG_7062
