Third graders design an ecosystem based on the local habitat

Grade three students are being challenged in their science unit to design an ecosystem that can sustain life. Students traveled to the Nogawa River to observe the local habitat. The students then designed their ecosystem to include light, air, water and soil as well as living and nonliving components.

Since we are interested in how to maintain the health of  our ecosystem, all captured critters will be released back to their natural environment and the plants will be added to our ASIJ garden.

The third graders enjoyed the hands-on, mud-stomping experience! (Third grade teaching team)
