Student Council gives back to the community

This term’s elementary student council have been meeting regularly since January and have worked hard at making a difference in their world.  They gathered socks for the homeless (over 550 pairs) and delivered them to Ueno Park in February, they sold friendship bracelets throughout the term to help children in Thailand, they sponsored two spirit days for the entire elementary school, they headed up the elementary paper recycling effort, they just carried out a very successful bake sale which raised over ¥112,000 and they are hosting a litterless lunch effort for Earth Day.  All funds they collect are donated to worthy charities helping people, animals and the environment.

On May 15 the council members from each term came together for a special lunch to reflect on all of the projects they worked on throughout the school year. (Karolee Kent, ES Music/Student Council Advisor)
