Sony CEO Kaz Hirai speaks to high school students at ASIJ’s Ricketson Theater on Sept. 10

Sony CEO Kaz Hirai, who graduated from The American School in Japan in 1979, came back to campus on September 10, 2013 to speak with high school students about his career, advice for succeeding in business and in life, and how he sees the role of technology in our daily lives.

He started off his address to ASIJ students with a summary of his advice from his previous visit to campus in 2010 (see the article from The Ambassador) and followed up with thoughts on the ways technology keeps us more connected but can also isolate us from the world around us. Kaz encouraged students to think of technology as a tool that they are in control of and not to let it control them.

We are grateful to the ASIJ Alumni Council (AAC) who arranged for Kaz’s visit to ASIJ and gave students the chance to ask him questions about his career. (Lucy Williams, Alumni Relations Officer)
