Winterfest on Saturday, December 7 was a fun-filled day with perfect weather and many happy faces. ASIJ’s biggest on-campus event of the year, Winterfest has food booths with cooking from around the world, games and activities for kids, musical performances by students and teachers, great holiday shopping, and a Raffle full of amazing prizes with ticket sales to benefit the school.
This event would not have been possible without our wonderful Winterfest Chofu co-chairs, Diane Harris and Yasuko Kent, and ELC Winterfest co-chairs, Kara Piscopo, Tim McDonald and Brooke Solheim. The Winterfest team did a stellar job not only organizing the event, but doing it in a professional manner with such calm and finesse. Our community also came through with the Raffle ticket sales this year. We matched last year’s total, clearing over ¥3,473,000 yen in Raffle sales.
We would also like to thank the countless number of student and parent volunteers who helped us put this event together and the school’s support staff. Whether you baked, cooked, sorted, sewed, counted or put in a shift at a booth, your contribution was indispensable to the success of this event.
The community’s support of Winterfest and other PTA events enables us to provide numerous enrichments to the school’s programs on both campuses—thank you again for all your varied contributions.
