Third graders solve STEM-based problems

Babies being rescued, supplies being dropped from helicopters, marbles rolling everywhere, bridges stretched across vast distances and ropes of strength and speed.  Some of the continuing activities that are challenging students in grade three.

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) was represented in an array activities on the recent early release day in grade three.  Students were challenged with a problem and then given a set time, equipment and parameters to see if they can met the challenge, work as a team and design, redesign and test their ideas.
