Seventh graders surf, snorkel and study marine life in Izu

From May 12 – 23, grade 7 students traveled to Yumigahama on the Izu Peninsula to partake in the Izu Extended Campus Trip. Students participated in snorkeling, exploring tide pools, surfing and sea kayaking to help support the science and physical education curriculum. Students help with meal preparation in a camp kitchen to reinforce what students learn in health class. This experience truly extends student learning beyond the walls of the classroom and helps them take risks to try activities that are not possible on campus. (Peter Dohrenwend, MS Science)
