On Monday May 25, the high school acting class, under the direction of David Neale (HS/MS Film and Theater Teacher), presented Mutually Assured Destruction, an original play about the love/hate relationships of siblings.
The series of vignettes begins in 2015 and winds its way back through time to 1922. Music, fashion and slang may change but brothers and sisters are always brothers and sisters. Each student had the opportunity to play at least three characters and to demonstrate the method acting techniques they learned throughout the semester. This new script by renowned playwright Don Zolidis is yet to be published and, with his permission, ASIJ’s production is the first outside the U.S. The students will be providing Zolidis with feedback and their impressions of his script.
