Every September, ASIJ buzzes in a flurry of homecoming week activities focused on school spirit and community building. The week culminates in Spirit Day, a day dedicated to cheering on the Mustangs sports teams, playing games and eating delicious food.
Students are always excited to participate in Homecoming Week activities, including crazy hat day for the elementary students. Thursday was class color day and everyone wore spiritwear on Friday.
High School activities built up to Friday’s Spirit Day Assembly. Students performed skits, introduced the sports teams and connected with their classmates.
The whole school came together on Saturday for Spirit Day. Everyone enjoyed themselves by cheering on our sports teams, checking out the student group causes and clubs, eating delicious food and participating in a host of games.
In total, our ASIJ Mustangs hosted five different sports during Spirit Day. Both varsity and junior varsity volleyball teams won over Seisen with scores of 3-0 and 2-0, respectively. Junior varsity football won against Yokota 35-9, and girls tennis beat Seisen, 3-2.
Many thanks to the Boosters and PTA for organizing this great event and for all the volunteers that made it run smoothly! If you would like to view Homecoming Week or Spirit Day videos, check back at ASIJ TV or keep an eye on their Facebook page.
