Elementary School Strings and Choir End of Year Performance

Karolee Kent (elementary school music teacher) and Tracey Su ( middle and high school strings teacher) updates us on their festive elementary school strings and handbell performance in the ASIJ Theater.
Our fourth and fifth-grade vocal choir and our elementary school beginner and intermediate strings students celebrated their term’s work in fine style this month with energetic and fun-filled musical performances. Students took the stage both at Winterfest and once again in the ASIJ Theater for elementary audiences and parents.

The vocal choir integrated voices with instruments and choreography on such quality pieces as: Sleep, Little King, Angels Among Us and Hot Chocolate! and the performances were made even more special by assistance from two wonderful accompanists and one of the choir’s very own members on the flute:  Nina (grade 5).

Elementary strings added to the festive spirit as well with several selections on a classical and holiday theme, including the famous Twinkle Theme and Variations. O’Come Little Children, Long Long Ago and Mississippi Sawyer.  Our students performed with precision and spirit and they lifted the hearts and spirits of all who heard them!
