Football and Cheer Start the Year

Each year, our football players and cheerleaders head to school a full week before classes begin. Our Mustangs begin early, fresh from the summer break, to hone their skills in preparation for the upcoming sports season.

The cheerleaders participated in Cheer Camp, a four-day collaboration between our cheerleading team and returning cheer consultant Michael Perez, owner of Forever Xclusive. Michael, along with Nahdya Weathers, helped kicked off the 2016 season with the intensive and highly successful camp. Both Michael and Nahdya have an extensive background in cheerleading and have worked as trainers for many years.

The Cheerleading team always looks forward to the challenging and exciting experience. With the help of their coaches, Chris Johnson and Dawn Grespan, and guidance of the consulting experts, our Cheerleading team works hard to create a positive foundation for the Mustang cheer year.

ASIJ football also hit the field early in preparation for a busy season. With the support of coaches John Seevers, Roy Tomlinson, Timothy Jacobsson and Beau Williams, our players have been hard at work training. Friday Night Lights, on September 9, introduces the season with our team’s first game against Edgren. This year, the varsity team will even travel to Seoul on September 24, for the first time in ASIJ football history, to gear-up against Seoul American High School.

If you would like to catch any of these games, but are unable to make it, home games will be streamed and archived on ASIJ TV.
