The ASIJ girls’ and boys’ Cross Country teams were once again successful at the Asia Pacific Invitational in Guam. The boys took first overall in Guam and in fact they never lost a meet all year long. The girls took fourth behind Shanghai, Seisen and ISSH. It came down to the final relay day where ASIJ took third overall. This was just enough to edge out Seisen/St. Mary’s for the overall championship. This is ASIJ’s ninth overall championship in ten tries.

Middle School Cross Country Kanto League Finals

cross countryAfter a strong fall season of practices and Saturday meets, the 2012 middle school cross country team had their Kanto League Finals on October 13th at Tama Hills. The boys team finished first in the league placing six “all-stars” in the top 10. The girls finished a respectable third and had one runner in the top 10. Additionally, Ryan Nishida set a new course record, not only for our school, but for the entire league. He is officially the fastest middle school boy to ever run the Tama Hills course. Overall, it was a fantastic season that will be remembered for years to come. (Dan Smith, Cross Country Coach)
